Served as the Marketing Director for La Vie, The Penn State Yearbook, and spent a semester abroad studying European Communications in Manchester, England. Elected as President of Curtin Hall (floors 4 & 5) sophomore year; volunteered on the advertising committee for THON in 1991.
Cindy is a media expert with more 20 years of experience in marketing, advertising and promotions, and has worked with leading national brands ideating, planning, pricing and executing multi-media brand campaigns, communication strategies and messaging tactics. Starting her career as a copywriter for Krups and Illycafe, Cindy quickly added a wide range of experiences and skills that cut across marketing functions, including creating multi-media advertising programs, partnership and cause marketing, research and analytics, search marketing, sales, social commerce, and content marketing. She was an early adopter of Internet technologies and digital marketing, working at one of the first branded Internet marketers, Phase2Media, in the late 1990s; and continued to integrate digital responsibilities throughout her career. Cindy has held senior-level positions at the Conde Nast Media Group, Mode Media and The Knot. Additional highlights include: positioning and growing the Fast Company brand; successfully launching and flipping a social commerce company targeted to urban moms; and launching her own consultancy called Fresh Milk Marketing. In her free time, she volunteers for the Arts program at the world-renowned 92nd Street Y as a studio monitor in clay, and volunteers at Harlem’s Common Pantry happily dishing out nutritious meals to low-income families. She also loves to mentor Penn State students.
