At Penn State
At Penn State, Harrington was active across campus. Within the entrepreneurship community, she interned at the Happy Valley Launchbox for Project Vive, (a start-up that builds communication devices for people with disabilities), led the entrepreneurship club as the VP of Marketing, and started her own Etsy business. During her junior year, Harrington spent a semester abroad in Barcelona, Spain. Senior year, Harrington worked on the strategy team for the American Advertising Federation (AAF) National Student Advertising Competition. She is very proud that the Penn State team placed 2nd in the NYC district competition her year. To conclude her disability studies minor, Harrington wrote a capstone paper on how to better include people with disabilities in advertising. Harrington was an inaugural member of the Bellisario Fellows program and represented the senior class of AD/PR students.
Away from campus, Harrington interned for the Ad Council and KAYAK during the summers. Now, Harrington is working as a Marketing Coordinator in New York for Seth Godin’s Akimbo Workshops, helping people follow their passions, become better leaders, and level up their work. Godin is known for his 19 NYTimes bestsellers, including Purple Cow, Permission Marketing, and Linchpin. The Akimbo Workshops build off of the ideas found in his books. Harrington is in charge of digital content creation, developing brand strategy for 10+ social platforms, and conducting consumer research.
