Free public screening of "Discovering Gloria," a film about a Florida elementary school teacher who used dance and hip-hop approaches to motivate her students and help improve their grades. The film was written, directed and produced by faculty member Boaz Dvir, and the screening includes an opportunity for audience members to share feedback and insights that will shape the film's final form.

As part of a spotlight on student research, College of Communications graduate student Eun Hwa Jung will present with Distinguished Professor S. Shyam Sundar during the University-wise Research Unplugged series. The free public presentation is titled "Assisted Aging: How Smart Technology Will Change How We Grow Old" and will feature a discussion abotu how smart devices and personal robotics will assist people as they age with everything from house chores and entertainment to compainionship and self-care tasks.

The AAF Nittany Group team will put its year of research and creativity to the test as members pitch their full integrated advertising campaign for Snapple beverages to a panel of local ad professionals whose feedback about the presentation will help the team prepare for the regional competition in New York City the following weekend.

Free public lecture by Pamela Divinsky whose company works with organizations to define what they stand for and develops "stand strategies" that strengthen their business, fortify their reputational equity, cultivate loyalty and ambassadorship, and drive material social impact. The event is conducted under the auspices of the Davis Symposium in Advertising Ethics, conducted annually by the Department of Advertising/Public Relations at Penn State.

Award-winning NPR correspondent Richard Harris, who has reported on the environment, medicine and a wide range of science-related topics from all over the world, will present a free public lecture titled “Communicating Science — Stories from the Seven Continents.” The event is sponsored by the College of Communications and the Norman Eberly Professorship.
