"Discovering Gloria"

Free public screening of "Discovering Gloria," a film about a Florida elementary school teacher who used dance and hip-hop approaches to motivate her students and help improve their grades. The film was written, directed and produced by faculty member Boaz Dvir, and the screening includes an opportunity for audience members to share feedback and insights that will shape the film's final form.

COMM Career Conversations series presents "Major Mismatch: What to Do When Your Major Dosn't Match Your Career Interests" featuring three College of Commuications graduates -- Lindsay Miller ('11 Journ), Patrick Bunting ('13 Telecom) and Jessica Blitzer ('14 Telecom). Each of the three studk with their course of study and landed careers in areas not directly related to their majors. The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the College of Communications Student Council.

"Assisted Aging"

As part of a spotlight on student research, College of Communications graduate student Eun Hwa Jung will present with Distinguished Professor S. Shyam Sundar during the University-wise Research Unplugged series. The free public presentation is titled "Assisted Aging: How Smart Technology Will Change How We Grow Old" and will feature a discussion abotu how smart devices and personal robotics will assist people as they age with everything from house chores and entertainment to compainionship and self-care tasks.
