Megan Pietruszewski eaerned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in integrated science from Northern Michigan University. She went to Michigan Technological University to earn a master’s in rhetoric, theory, and culture. Her master’s thesis included a framing analysis of the rescindment of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) immigration program across three major newspapers.
After graduating, she worked at Clemson University as an English lecturer for three years, teaching rhetoric and composition (a first-year writing course) and advanced writing courses such as scientific writing and communication and business writing. She also helped lead various workshops about writing across the curriculum.
Her current research interests center around science and environmental communication, particularly topics such as forest management, climate change, and fracking.
In her free time, Pietruszewski enjoys hiking, camping, swimming and spending as much time outside as possible with her husband. She has a cat named Bella who enjoys attending Zoom meetings and watching reruns of "The Office."
