Sara Erlichman began her adventure exploring communication research -- specifically media psychology and popular culture -- in her master’s at the University of Kansas. Since coming to Penn State, she has been able to expand her research knowledge and experience exploring new methodologies and theories. Her research interests focus on parasocial theory, how mediated characters influence attitude formation and change, and also how mediated characters emotionally impact audiences. As a Penn State graduate student, she looks forward to teaching undergraduates media theory and professional courses such as advertising, public relations and journalism.
