Zhixin (Giselle) Pu

Giselle’s research examines the interplay between people, technology and society. She employs interdisciplinary thinking to explore the roles of emotion and cognition in emerging media technologies like recommender systems and mobile phones using computational methods. Her current work studies serendipity in masspersonal communication and the roots of the diffusion of misinformation. She has published studies on digital news consumption and information seeking in Modern Communication and The International Encyclopedia of Media Psychology. She received the Emerging Scholar Research Award from the ICA Mobile Interest Group in 2019.
