Biographical Summary
Ernest Schreiber was born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Millersville University and a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He worked as a reporter at the Bucks County Courier Times and a freelance writer at Today Magazine. He joined the Lancaster New Era in 1974. He worked as a reporter and staff editor. In 2000, he was named editor of the New Era and served in the position until he retired in 2011. He rejoined the newspaper briefly after it merged with the Ingelligencer Journal but left in 2013.
