The Office of Diversity and Inclusion in the Bellisario College provides:

Faculty member Walter Middlebook led a team of students to the National Association of Black Journalists Convention in Birmingham, Alabama, in 2023.

  • Academic, personal and financial counseling.
  • Career and internship counseling and assistance. The Office of Multicultural Affairs works in tandem with the Office of Internships and Career Placement to assist students in fully optimizing their career potential.
  • Access to an array of student organizations.
  • Trips to student job fairs.
  • A variety of cultural awareness heritage programs and receptions.
  • The Summer Research Opportunity Program, which brings talented multicultural undergraduate students to campus who are then matched with research mentors from our faculty.
  • Access for students from underrepresented groups tp Bellisario College, University-wide and national grant and scholarship awards.
  • Leadership opportunities in the Bellisario College in terms of the recruitment and retention of a diverse student body.

Alumna Shadé Olasimbo ('12) assists a student during the Short Doc Workshop, which is conducted on campus every spring as alumni return to campus to work with students on short films over a three-day period.
